The morning drive into Port Louis
Everyone who does it has the same conversation about it. Here is the version with something you can actually do at the end.
The same cars, every single morning
Between about half past six and eight, the roads into Port Louis fill with people leaving the same villages for the same offices at the same hour. Most of those cars have four empty seats in them.
That is the strange part. It is not a stranger's traffic jam. It is your neighbours', and you are in it with them.
What a car buddy actually changes
You will not clear the road on your own. What you will get back is the half of the week you spend driving in it. Take turns and every other morning you are a passenger instead: coffee, phone, or your eyes shut.
Two people, one car, and the parking problem at the other end halves as well.
Where the bus does not go
Plenty of villages on the way in are badly served, and no timetable ever asked what time your shift starts. A neighbour's car leaves when you need to leave and stops exactly where you are going.
How to find yours
Drop a pin near home, drop one near work, tap your usual times. If somebody on your road is already waiting you will see them immediately, and if not, your request stays live and we email you the day they arrive.
No addresses, no payments, and your number stays private until you have both agreed.
One less car in the queue starts with two people in one of them.
